T-ara’s Jiyeon Breaks Silence on Social Media After Divorce
Former T-ara member Jiyeon has returned to social media, sharing a glimpse of her current life following her recent divorce.
On March 8, Jiyeon uploaded a series of photos on her personal SNS account without any caption. The images showed her dressed casually, seated in front of a mirror while taking selfies. Despite her makeup-free look, Jiyeon’s beauty stood out, with her flawless skin and delicate hands—so slender that even holding a phone seemed like an effort—catching fans’ attention.
Jiyeon’s Divorce: From Denial to Confirmation
Jiyeon tied the knot with professional baseball player Hwang Jae-gyun in December 2022, but rumors of their separation surfaced less than two years later. The speculation gained traction in June 2023 when sports commentator Lee Kwang-gil casually mentioned on a live radio broadcast, “Did you know Hwang Jae-gyun got divorced?”
At the time, Jiyeon’s agency denied the claims, but her continued absence of a wedding ring only fueled more speculation. Eventually, in February 2024, Jiyeon’s side confirmed the divorce, stating:
"The two could not overcome their differences and, after a period of separation, have mutually agreed to divorce. The process is now underway at the Seoul Family Court."
Meanwhile, Hwang Jae-gyun drew attention when he attended a fellow baseball player’s wedding just one month after the divorce. He also reactivated his SNS account, sharing lyrics from Fall Out Boy’s “The Phoenix”, which includes the line: “Prepare for war.” This cryptic post sparked speculation about his state of mind post-divorce.
